It has been announced that Batman and Superman will actually share the same screen together with a planned date in 2015. Although many sighed at the news of the Justice League movie falling through, Director Zack Snyder has regained the flow of water in the mouths of comic fans with the sequel to Man of Steel being Batman vs. Superman. This conflict of styles, ideologies and powers is sure to drum up galactic viewing numbers but who will come out on top? That’s if there is a winner.
The Heroes Arsenal
There has previously been major battles on screen with cult classic aliens and mythical figures both battling it out. Alien and Predator as well as Godzilla and King Kong spring to mind, but within actual Superheroes, fights have been mainly played out in one off series or divulged in comic books rather than the big screen. It would be utterly stupid to suggest that Batman would win against Superman in a one to one, head to head straight up fist fight. Superman holds an insane amount of strength and power, not to mention his hurricane breath and laser beams. If they were both to pitch up in a fight and Batman came unprepared then Superman would blast him into the stratosphere. However, in the past The Dark Knight has acclaimed suits to handle Superman’s heat vision, cold blowing breath and forceful punching. You can sense the Batman fans piping up in the background wearing their Batman clothing. So what does Batman have? Well, he’s a man of cunning ability, gadgets and thoughtful manoeuvres. With gadgets, hardware and cash at Batman’s disposal he’ll have the opportunity to combat with heavy arms. Batman has already pencilled in Superman’s weaknesses into his Bat Files and they don’t call him the ‘World’s Greatest Detective’ for nothing. There is no doubt that Batman will have his wits about him once more, with a possible team of intelligence at his side, Batman may just be able to conjure up a clever plan to coax Superman into a position of perilous defeat. It’s also likely that he’ll strike at night.
To Kryptonite Or Not To Kryptonite
A question on a lot of avid fans lips is “Will Kryptonite be used?” In previous hero tales Batman has carried Kryptonite around with him. In the Dark Knight Over Metropolis series Batman was equipped with Kryptonite just in case a crazed Superman decided to infiltrate the peaceful proceedings. The Kryptonite ring was given to Batman to fend off Superman but would this conclusion be all too easy to use in the film? Batman definitely has guile and commitment over Superman. Batman would stop at nothing to get the job done, where as Superman may rest on his morals like the big blue Boy Scout he’s so often coined with. However, Superman has his very own fan that may become a pinnacle feature on determining who wins. A few years ago the question was put to the director Zack Snyder ‘Who would win the Batman vs Superman fight?’, and reading in between the lines you can kind of tell who he thinks would be the victor. Having said this, can they really kill off either of them?
