The Eja Nla Himself, D’banj, promises a Night to remember at the DKM (D’King’s Men) concert this weekend.
Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo (aka D’Banj, Koko Master and more recently Eja Nla) has risen to become an International Superstar indeed. Best known for his 2012 international hit, ‘Oliver Twist’, the singer-songwriter is the winner of several accolades including Best African Act, MTV 2007 Europe Music Awards, Artist of the Year, MTV 2009 Africa Music Awards as well as Best International Act 2011 BET Awards. His accomplishments and popularity is not in question as evidenced by his rather numerous collaborations with international superstars like 2 Chainz and Snoop Dogg now known as Snoop Lion.
D’banj’s rise to fame began with his 2005 debut album, ‘No Long Thing’ recorded under Mo’Hits which he founded with his friend Don Jazzy. Unrivaled success and three albums later he is now launching his fourth album DKM. D’Banj is now signed as a producer and an artist with G.O.O.D, Kanye Wests record label.
To commemorate the launch of his fourth album and to also celebrate his successes in the industry with his numerous fans, the superstar is set hold a record breaking five star concert in Lagos this weekend, on the 23rd of June. The concert which is hailed as possibly one of the best Nigeria and Africa has seen from a local boy in years is set to feature both Nigerian and international stars alike and will take place at the Eko Hotel.
International superstar 2 Chainz, with whom D’banj has collaborated before is going to be gracing the stage alongside Wande Coal, who used to to be signed to Mo’Hits as well, Fally Ipupa, a singer from the DRC, internationally known 2Face Idibia among many more.
As his popularity and award winning form has proven, D’Banj is without a doubt the Afro King of pop and he knows it too as is evidenced by his soon to be released albums name, DKM (D’King’s Men). He has promised his eagerly awaiting fans a night to remember with more than electrifying performances from himself and his now superstar friends as well. If the past is anything to go by, this new album is set to be very entertaining and hopefully gain as much popularity as the singer-songwriter has, both locally and internationally.
